Match Report: PDRM 3-2 Perak

Perak fell to their third consecutive defeat in the Malaysian Super League yesterday, after suffering a 3-2 loss at the hands of PDRM at the Shah Alam Stadium.

PDRM looked the more impressive side from the get go as they pushed the Seladangs into their own half within the first five minutes. That ultimately contributed to the first goal of the game, when Ali Ashfaq fired home on the 10th minute mark to make it 1-0.

But Perak continued to work hard in midfield, though they were continuously being let down by the performance of Namkung Woong on the offensive department, who seemed to be struggling to work his usual magic on and off the ball.

After the break though, PDRM eventually got their second goal of the game, through a fine finish from Dramane Traore, from the edge of the box to make it 20 on the 58th minute.

10 minutes later, it was 3-0. A defensive mistake from Perak’s Nasir Basharuddin, allowed PDRM to launch a counter attack through Mohamadou Sumareh, before the ball was handed to Ali Ashfaq, who charged ahead with pace, before slotting it into the back of the net to make it 3-0.

Perak worked their socks off to forge a comeback, though they were guilty of being wasteful in front of goal, especially with Bobby Gonzales missing four pivotal opportunities to hit the back of the net.

But on the 3rd minute of injury time, Thiago Aquino secured what appeared to be a consolation goal, as he fired home from outside the box to make it 3-2. One minute later, Perak did the impossible by scoring a second goal, thanks to PDRM’s sloppy defending. This time around, it was Horace James.

But the Cops, who were starting to lose focus at this point, kept their cool and eventually held on to secure three points on the day,
