Come and get me! – Mario Gotze issues plea

Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze has revealed that he wants to leave the German giants this summer.

A year after scoring the winning goal for Germany in the World Cup final, Gotze has been reduced to a squad rotation player during his two-year spell with the Bundesliga champions.

The 23-year-old joined from rivals Borussia Dortmund in 2013, but failed to get hold of a starting spot in the heart of Bayern’s attack and struggled on the bench.

And further inclusions of Douglas Costa and Arturo Vidal at the Allianz Arena might just mean that Gotze’s exit is inevitable.

After scoring in a 3-0 win over AC Milan in a pre-season tournament yesterday, Gotze spoke openly to Eurosport: “I played a pretty good game today. Now we will see what will happen.”

“It clearly hasn’t been easy for the past two years. I may have won far more league titles, but personally, it has been unsatisfactory.”

“We will see if he (coach Pep Guardiola) will speak to me more often. Now I will just let things come to me.”

If ever Mario Gotze confirms his exit, big clubs will definitely be after him.

Manchester United will be one of the possible suitors, as Louis van Gaal is still in the market for another attacker to support sole senior striker Wayne Rooney.

Another club that has been always linked with Gotze lately is Juventus, who do have money to spend from Vidal’s sale.
