Selangor’s Rob Cornthwaite successfully undergoes surgery

Selangor defender Rob Cornthwaite has successfully undergone surgery on a fractured maxillary bone in his cheek at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur.

The tall defender suffered an injury within the first five minutes of their 1-1 draw against PDRM last weekend, and was sent to hospital after the game to undergo several tests.

He spent that night at the hospital, before undergoing a CAT scan the following day, revealing the damaged maxillary bone just under his eyes.

The 29 year-old underwent a surgery this morning and based on his post on Instagram, it went relatively well. “Surgery complete. Face all fixed, still looking as handsome as ever!” Rob said.

This injury is likely to keep him out for a few weeks, meaning that Selangor will be short of defensive covers as the league gets closer to it’s conclusion.
