Malaysia XI skipper Razman Roslan has pointed out teamwork as the key attribute in their 1-1 draw against Liverpool, despite having little time to work together with his teammates after the festive break.
Malaysia held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium after the brilliant Patrick Wleh or Patrick Ronaldinho as he is known as gave Malaysia the lead only for Jordan Ibe to equalize to ensure both sides shared the spoils.
“We were having a little trouble because we had little time to work together as a team so we had to quickly understand each other on the field. Nonetheless, we were able to put out a solid performance against Liverpool.” Roslan said, as quoted by Harian Metro.
“I am pleased with the result. It was a good result. We followed the coach’s (Dollah Salleh) instructions and what he had taught us in his training sessions.
“Teamwork was key against Liverpool.”
The Pahang captain hopes that matches against top opponents will be a good learning curve for the players to improve their levels.
“I hope that games like these, against football stars, will be beneficial for us in the long run in order for us to improve our performance. We worked hard and were committed on the field, that was why managed to achieve this result.” He concluded.
