Pahang striker Dickson Nwakaeme has reaffirmed his desire to feature for the Malaysia XI side when they take on Liverpool next week, claiming that it would be a dream come true.
His Pahang teammate Razman Roslan pulled out of the national squad earlier this week, and recent rumours have suggested that the Pahang management are keen on withdrawing its’ players as well, due to injury concerns.
But as far as Dickson is concerned, he is determined to feature against Brendan Rodgers’ outfit and pointed out that this is a rare opportunity to test himself against better players.
“I don’t know about the whole issue [Rumours of Pahang withdrawals] and I’ve not been told anything about it. To me, this is a dream opportunity for any player out there, because it allows you to pit yourself against world class players,” he told Harian Metro.
“Injuries happen all the time, irrespective of whether you play or not. We can even get injured during training sessions, so the best way to go about it is to pray to God and hope that you never get injured,” he added.
Dickson is one of five foreigners that have been called up by Dollah Salleh for the exhibition match. The other four are Rob Cornthwaite of Selangor, Ali Ashfaq of PDRM, Zah Rahan Krangar of Felda United and Thiago Aquino of Perak.
