Football Association of Malaysia has announced the list of players who will form a Malaysia XI team to face Liverpool at the Bukit Jalil national stadium later this month.
The squad features several news names, and surprisingly does not include a single player from Johor DT. Some of the new names that will be receiving a call-up includes Zamir Selamat from Perak and Nazirul Naim from Harimau Muda.
Dollah Salleh has also included five foreigners from the Malaysia Super League in his side. Three of them – Rob Cornthwaite, Ali Ashfaq and Thiago Aquino – featured against Tottenham Hotspur in May, while the two additional players are none other than Dickson Nwakaeme of Pahang as well as Zah Rahan Krangar of Felda United.
That being said, Safiq Rahim and Amri Yahya have been picked as reserve players, and they will be drafted into the squad, should anyone pick up an injury.
