Malaysia’s FIFA ranking has substantially fallen to 168, which six spots down from their previous ranking.
This comes after the national team were humiliated by war-torn Palestine in an AFC World Cup qualifiers at the Bukit Jalil Stadium back in June, losing the game 6-0 on the day.
The latest rankings mean that Malaysia are only slightly higher than Bangladesh (169), Yemen (171), Pakistan (172), Laos (177), Cambodia (181) and Brunei (184). Singapore are significantly higher at 150 while Indonesia is one spot above Malaysia at 167.
Meanwhile, Argentina moved to the top spot for the first time in seven years after their exploits at the Copa Amerca, overtaking Germany, who fell to second place.
