Tan Kim Her to depart BAM?

National mixed doubles coach, Tan Kim Her has admitted to receiving a bumper offer from Badminton Association of India (BAI) to be their doubles head coach.

The five-year deal will reportedly offer Kim Her a salary of between AS$7, 500 (RM28, 600) to AS$8, 000 (RM30, 520) a month.

Kim Her, however, was not responsive towards the news regarding his position.

The 44 year-old has discussed the offer with Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) Technical Director, Morten Frost Hansen and asked for some time before deciding on his future.

“He (Morten) gave me a month to think about it. Any decisions will be made after that. At the same time, I’m discussing with my family members over it,” he told Harian Metro.

If ever Kim Her decides to take up the offer, it would seem to be a big loss for BAM who have already lost the services of Rashid Sidek and Rosman Razak.

In the mean time, Deputy President of BAM, Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza Zakaria hopes Kim Her will stay with them.

“I hope Kim Her stays. We want him to work with all the planning done by Frost, to take Malaysian badminton to greater heights.”
