Malaysian based airline, Malindo Air have announced that they will give their wholehearted support for the Nepal Earthquake Fundraising Match and the #BatforNepal campaign.
The deal would mean that Malindo Air will be the official airline and will see the Nepalese national cricket team travel to Kuala Lumpur to take on the World XI for the fundraising match next month.
Mr. Chandran Rama Muthy, the CEO of Malindo Air said: “We are very honored to be the official airline to fly the Nepal cricket team to Malaysia on our commercial flight while exercising our social responsibilities through the fundraising event.
“This means we have gone beyond just connecting the cities, but also contributing to the communities involved and supporting the sports event shared by these countries.
“Together with the Malaysian Cricket and Nepal Cricket teams, we hope for the success of #BatforNepal. Moving forward, we look forward to similar meaningful partnerships that will allow our contribution within our capacity in the industry and strengthen the ties with our partners,” he further emphasized.
The devastating Nepal Earthquake back in April, otherwise known as the Gorkha Earthquake, recorded a magnitude of 8.1 on the Richter scale and claimed more than 9000 lives, whilst leaving more than 23,000 injured.
Another 7.3 Magnitude Earthquake happened in May, claiming another 218 lives.
