Datuk M. Karathu: Momentum is on our side

Perak head coach Datuk M. Karathu has urged his men to stay focused and keep their momentum going as they prepare to dive into the crucial stage of the season.

The Seladangs have had a stellar season thus far, exceeding all expectations and silencing their own critics as well. They are currently 4th on the league table, just three points behind Pahang on the league table.

Their most recent win took place last weekend, where the Seladangs clinched a 3-1 victory over Sime Darby – something that Karathu was visibly delighted with.

“We are slowly getting into our strides and the players are playing with so much of confidence as well,” he told Harian Metro.

“The win [vs Sime Darby] is an important one, but it needs to be treated like every other victory as well. As of now, it’s important we keep the momentum going and take every match as it comes,” he added.

Despite going 1-0 down, Perak bounced back through goals from Horace James and Chad Souza in the first half, before skipper Nasir Basharuddin added a third goal after the break to seal a routine win.

They will next face ATM in Ipoh this weekend, a match that Karathu is hoping to see his men triumph in as well.

“I hope my players’ attitude remains the same when we take on ATM this Saturday. In fact, I hope it remains there for the rest of the season.”
