National Moto2 rider Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah, who rides for Petronas Raceline Malaysia, has successfully finished 15th in the Dutch Grand Prix.
Despite putting up with serious front end chattering issues on Saturday, Hafizh managed to finish the race with a time record of 26m 34.304s. Prior to that, the race was restarted with 16 laps following a collision that involved Marcel Schrotter of Tech 3, Anthony West of QMMF Racing, Luis Salom of Paginas Amarilla HP40 in the opening lap.
“Not a great day for me as I could not ride faster than I should. The front end chatter at several turns could have thrown me off the bike. I decided to bring the bike home safely and collect a point,” said Hafizh in as quoted from Bernama.
“It is a pity that Hafizh could not do better than 15th place as we expected him to collect more points here,” said team manager Barry Leong.
“Only reason I could think is the weather that was too cold. We need to bounce back to get some points in the next race at Sachsenring,” he added.
Johann Zarco of Ajo Motorsport took home the title as he was 26:13.410s ahead of reigning Moto2 champion, Tito Rabat of EG 0,0 Marc VDS and also Sam Lowes of Speed Up Racing who both made it 26:14.167s and 26:15.490s respectively.
