Fatin Nurfatehah refuses to set unrealistic targets for Universiade

Fatin Nurfatehah Mat Salleh, whom won three gold medals in the archery event during the 2015 Singapore SEA Games, has voiced out that she does not target a gold medal in the upcoming Summer Universiade that will be held in Gwangju, South Korea starting July 3.

In contrary to her achievement in Singapore, Fatin only wishes to bring back a medal- regardless of colour, as she predicts that the competition there would be much tougher compared the SEA Games.

“The success of securing three gold medals in the SEA Games instilled a fighting spirit within me to perform better in Korea. However, I’m not targeting a gold medal in the Universiade event,” said Fatin as quoted from Kosmo.

“Nonetheless, it does not mean that I don’t want to bring home any medals from the event. I want to at least bring back one medal, regardless of the colour, because almost half of the nations listed are capable of giving a tough competition.”

Fatin had also expressed that her team mates are also in their best form after the two major events competed.

“We’re now in the best form. Moreover, we just took part in two major events, which is the Archery World Championships in Shanghai in May and the recent SEA Games. If there is a chance, we will definitely secure a medal in Korea later on,” she added.
