SEA Games: Cai Lin serves up silver medal

Malaysia’s Khoo Cai Lin successfully secured a silver medal yesterday in the swimming event held at the OCBC Aquatic Centre.

Cai Lin was handed the bronze with a time of 4:17.79s whereas gold medalist Nguyen Thi Anh Vien of Vietnam did it within 4:08.66s, setting a whole new record in the SEA Games. The bronze medal was given to Thailand’s Ammiga Himathongkom who recorded a time of 4:20.20s.

In the women’s 50m breast stroke event, Singapore’s Roanne Ho downed Malaysia’s Phee Jing En and Erika Kong Chia Chia respectively to win the gold medal in a time of 31.45s.

Malaysia’s Kevin Yeap was granted the bronze medal in the men’s 1500m with a time record of 15:55.69s. Gold and silver was give to Vietnam’s Quang Nhat Lam and Indonesia’s Aflah Prawira who did in under 15:31.05s and 15:55.69s respectively.
