SEA Games: Sharmini bags gold in equestrian event

The Malaysian team’s gold medal tally increased again as the Sharmini Christina Ratnasingham presented a faultless display with her horse Arcado L to ultimately win the equestrian event, improving from her bronze medal four years ago.

29 year-old Sharmini ended the finals with a perfect record. She had zero penalty points when she produced a quicker time alongside and defeating Catherine Chew of Singapore in a jump-off.

The equestrian team had also previously scored a silver medal in the team showjumping event. The team included Sharmini, Natasha Ines Wah Idris, Mohd Nabil Fikri Ismail and Ahmad Imtaz Amir Hamzah.

The nation concluded the equestrian competition with one gold, one silver and one bronze.
