Barcelona became the first team to secure a double treble as they cruised to a 3-1 win over Juventus, in the Champions League final last night.
The clash was dubbed as the battle between ‘Attack and Defence’ but Barcelona showcased their supremacy from the get go, with Ivan Rakitic slotting home on the 3rd minute mark, after some terrific football from the Blaugranas.
Juventus has their fair share of opportunities in the first half, courtesy of Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio, though the score eventually remained 1-0 till the half time break.
As soon as the second half resumed, Barca continued where they left off in the first, though Juventus ultimately restored parity later on, thanks to Alvaro Morata’s close range finish.
Luis Suarez then restored Barcelona’s lead, before Neymar almost made it 3-1, only for his goal to be disallowed due to handball. But with the clock ticking fast at this point, Juve went all out as far as offence was concerned, before Barcelona got the last laugh. A speedy breakaway from their own half, allowed Neymar to slot home from inside the box, to hand his side the win!
