Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) Technical Director, Morten Frost has urged the national badminton team to present a sterling performance at the 2015 SEA Games next week.
Frost is still worried about their main rival Indonesia even though they are not putting up their main players this year. Instead, they have opted to place their young players in the line-up.
“They might give us some difficulties in Singapore but all players should improve their performance and prepare for any possibilities,” said Frost as quoted from Harian Metro.
“You can’t belittle them (young players) and at the same time we need to have a mindset that it will be a tough match in Singapore,” he added.
Frost also claimed that former number one player Lee Chong Wei is ready to help the team in terms of a good game play.
“His presence will instill a fighting spirit to the team and I can see that he is ready for the upcoming matches.”
In the previous edition, the national team took home one gold and three bronze medals. This time, BAM has set a medal of target of four gold medals through the men’s singles, women’s doubles and also the mixed doubles section.
