There’s another chance for Malaysia to secure a gold medal as national table tennis player Ng Sock Khim has advanced to the finals after defeating Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Nga in the semi finals today.
The match ventured to four sets and Sock Khim dominated all of it. She won the first set 11-8 before tackling a great win 14-12 in an intense second set. She then calmly knocked off her opponent in the two final sets 11-7 and 11-4.
Meanwhile, Malaysia clinched its’ first gold medal earlier today, through synchronized swimming duo Katrina Ann Abdul Hadi and Lee Yhing Huey, who finished first in the synchronized swimming duet finals.
As of now, Malaysia are third on the medal standings, with one gold, one silver and two bronze.
