Twitter reacts to Kolo Toure’s new Liverpool deal

The social media has been emitting quite the euphoria over football lately and the phenomenon keeps going on and this time, the keyboards were glued onto the word ‘Toure’.

Nope, not Yaya from Manchester City but in fact it was about his brother, Kolo.

In case you forgot, the 34 year-old Ivorian was an ‘Arsenal Invincible’ as he captained the team for the first time during 2007 to bag a magnificent 6-3 victory over Liverpool. There was no stopping Toure when he transferred to Manchester City where he made 14 appearances in the 2011-12 season and had them won the league for the first time in 44 years before singing with Liverpool the next year.

The defender finally signed a new deal to lengthen his stay for another 2 years, which ultimately could make him finish his career in England.

Kolo Toure stirred up the Twitter scene when it was announced that he has extended his contract with Liverpool. The Reds have been the spotlight for the past weeks with rather saddening news but did Kolo Toure’s extended stay make them happy? There seems to be mixed feelings about this and sarcasm is topping off the feedback.

Oh Kolo. Congratulations on your stay but certainly hope you are strong enough to deal with the reactions. Till then, you’ll never walk alone.
