National artistic gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi is determined to thrive at the Singapore SEA Games and cure her woes of only sealing a silver medal in the edition that took place four years ago in Palembang, Indonesia.
This year’s edition would mark the 21 year-old’s second appearance in the biennial event, as artistic gymnastics was excluded from the Myanmar SEA Games two years ago.
Farah admits that the upcoming challenges would be tough, especially when facing the Vietnamese gymnasts in the individual event. However, she remains optimistic of triumphing in Singapore.
“The preparations are good enough and my stamina and fitness are in good condition,” said Farah as quoted from Utusan.
“I succeeded in placing myself in the top nine of the recent World Championships in Doha, Qatar, and it was a great platform to plant some confidence in me. It serves as a positive sign for me to overcome the challenges in the upcoming SEA Games.”
“For me, Vietnam is one of the team that needs to be paid attention to aside from Singapore and Thailand. Despite that, I am confident in winning a gold medal, especially in my favorite event, which is the floor exercise and the balance beam.”
