Much different from his white Formula One gear suit or the his notorious black casual clothes, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton ditched the usual and put on his red and white jersey for a day to play along a friendly match against Frenchman Thierry Henry.
For some of you who don’t know, Hamilton once said that if he was not racing in his single seater, he would definitely be a footballer for his favorite club, Arsenal. Thus, that dream came true for just a short moment.
The Briton played alongside Arsenal legends whereas Henry captained the Sky Sports pundits in the match. It was a great game between the two and Hamilton even contributed a wonderful penalty kick.
After the game, Hamilton and Henry sat down to have a chat on the topic of winning and losing. Everyone knows that being an athlete, the last thing you would want is defeat, even if the after effect serves a constructive purpose, losing is indeed a bitter feeling.
Both men regarded losing as the one thing they hate and that there’s no such thing as a ‘nice loser’. Rather being called a sore loser, they wouldn’t want to be a ‘nice loser’ because as Hamilton said, people like that would never win.
All in all, the two claimed that the ‘desire’ to win is the ‘key’ to success. What’s your view on this?
