National shuttler Lee Chong Wei and China’s Lin Dan were both denied a clash at the 2015 Sudirman Cup in Dongguan but they finally avenged the opportunity through a friendly match against retired legends Peter Gade of Denmark and Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia in a fan meeting at China yesterday.
Chong Wei delighted the fans when he was paired up with his Chinese partner in a first round doubles playoff against Taufik and Gade in “The Legends’ Vision” in the University of Beijing, where the whole event was held.
All four players had reached a career high of world number one in the BWF rankings and had faced each other most of the times in the tournaments. Despite being rivals at one point, the four remain good friends till now and apparently get along very well.
