French Open: Raonic pulls out due to foot injury

After missing the recent Italian Open, Canadian Milos Raonic is going to extend his absence again as he has pulled out from the upcoming Grand Slam – French Open.

“I am sad to have to unfortunately announce my withdrawal from 2015’s Roland Garros,” Raonic tweeted from his account.

The 24 year-old sixth seed is dealing with painful recovery after his surgery last week in France to fix Morton’s Neuroma in his right foot. The excruciating pain was the main reason he retired from the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters recently, before pulling out from the Italian Open and now the French Open.

“I will continue my rehab and proceed with preparations for a 100 percent strong Wimbledon and Queens run.Thank you for the love and support.”

In the previous French Open, Raonic went up to the quarter-finals, only to be defeated by Novak Djokovic.

The French Open will commence on May 24.
