Iskandar Zulkarnain eyeing SEA Games spot

National badminton player Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin is determined to make the cut for the SEA Games squad and help Malaysia do well in the tournament next month.

The 24 year-old though, admitted that it will not be easy to get into the national squad as he will have to compete with senior players in the form of Lee Chong Wei, Chong Wei Feng and Arif Latif for a position in the team.

“Everything depends on the coach’s decision. If I could, I would definitely want to compete because I want to seek experience in major tournaments like this,” said the 88th seed as quoted from Utusan.

“Before this, I was rarely given a chance but at the moment I am in a very good form and I don’t have any injuries,” he added.

Iskandar’s best performance was during the Austrian Open International Challenge where he finished as runners-up after being defeated by Hong Kong’s Angus Ng in the final.
