JDT release Alhaji Kamara, make Jorge Diaz U-turn

Johor DT have resigned young Argentinean forward Jorge Diaz after confirming the release Sierra Leone striker Alhaji Kamara.

The Southern Tigers initially released Diaz in March, claiming that they received a lucrative offer from an undisclosed South American side, to secure his signature. They went on to secure the loan signature of Alhaji Kamara from Swedish side IFK Norrköping in April, with a view to a permanent move at the end of the season.

However, Kamara has struggled for form since his arrival in Malaysia, scoring only one goal for JDT. That sparked JDT’s decision to bring Lucho Figueroa back into the Super League squad, making Kamara an optional forward for their AFC Cup campaign.

That being said, it now appears that the Southern Tigers have opted to release him back to his parent club, and resign Jorge Diaz.

An official club statement read: “Jorge Pereyra Diaz will return to help Johor Darul Ta’zim in the 2015 AFC Cup campaign. Diaz, who will strengthen JDT’s attacking department, is expected to arrive in Johor on Tuesday.

“His contract with JDT for the M-League will be renewed for one-and-a-half years from December 2015 to 2017 after his loan to the France and American League.”

That basically means Diaz will be part of their AFC Cup squad, and will be going on-loan to either France or the USA before coming back to be part of their squad for next year’s Super League campaign.
