Pahang have seized an early advantage in their quest to qualify for the final of the Malaysia FA Cup by claiming a 1-0 win over Kelantan at the Darul Makmur Stadium earlier today.
The Elephants came into this game on the back of a crucial win over Perak, that allowed them to claim top spot in the MSL and they certainly capitalized on the confidence by notching a 2nd minute goal through Matias Conti.
From that moment onwards, it was an uphill battle for Kelantan. To be fair, they had their fair share of chances as the game progressed, but the Pahang defence remained defiant throughout the first half as the match went into half-time.
After the break, Khairul Izuan was brought on to beef up their attack, but even his introduction failed to help assert themselves in the match.
The score line eventually remained as Pahang took one big step into the final, forcing Kelantan to start preparations for the second leg.
