Madrid Masters: Kyrgios knocked out by Isner

Nick Kyrgios’ triumphant run in the Madrid Masters has closed its veil after a defeat to American John Isner, who conquered the intense battle 6-3, 6-7 (7/5), 6-4.

After dropping the first set, Kyrgios set up a tiebreak in the second, where he saved a match point to level the scores and moved on to a third set.

The viewers claim that Kyrgios may have been overwhelmed with his sterling victory over Roger Federer in the clay courts the day before. The Australian could not record even one break point against 16th seed Isner, who dominated the third set.

Isner will now face Czech Tomas Berdych in the quarter finals, who cruised past 12th seed Frenchman Jo-Wilfriend Tsonga 7-5, 6-2.
