Malaysian squash legend Datuk Nicol David is now one step away from securing her ninth Asian Championship title after easing to a 3-0 win over Joshana Chinappa of India yesterday.
The longest-reigning world number showcased yet another exceptional performance by demolishing the fourth seed 11-6, 11-9, 11-7 in the last four.
As a result, she will be taking on Hong Kong third seed Annie Au in the final. Annie ousted Malaysia’s Delia Arnold in the other semi-final by securing a scrappy 3-2 (7-11, 11-9, 9-11, 12-10, 11-4) win.
The 31 year-old Nicol, who will be bidding to triumph against Annie, secured her first Asian Championship title at the tender age of 15.
