Estoril Open: Haase stuns Lopez, Kyrgios into quarters

Top seed Feliciano Lopez was sent packing in the second round of the Estoril Open after being edged out by Dutchman Robin Haase.

Lopez, ranked 12th in the world, received a bye in the first round, but he appeared to be a little rusty in the second round against Haase, losing 4-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4.

The Spaniard nailed the first set comfortably, before Haase imposed himself in the second set to secure the last point and level up the game.

The world number 33 then kept his momentum going into the decider, and did not give in to the top seed to eventually wrap up a win and book his spot in the quarters.

He will next face Nick Kyrgios of Australia in the last eight, who sealed a comfortable 6-3, 6-3 win over Filip Krajinovic in the second round.
