George Koshy to challenge for MHC deputy president role

Former national hockey team manager George Koshy will be contesting for the Malaysian Hockey Confederation’s deputy president role at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

The Kuala Lumpur Hockey Association (KLHA) have nominated Koshy for the deputy president role, and he will be going head to head against the influential Datuk Nur Azmi, who is also seeking to compete for the exact role.

“His decision to stand for the deputy president role is a good one. Should he be elected, I’m confident of him being able to inject much needed impetus into MHC,” KLHA secretary V. Rajamanickam told Harian Metro.

“I believe that Koshy isn’t merely thinking of the role, but rather on how he can help develop the sport within Malaysia. He has what it takes to do this, especially since he was formerly the team manager and even owns an accounting firm as of now.

“That being said, he will up against individuals who are very experienced as well,” he added.

The outcome of the election will be unveiled on the 13th of May.
