The Malaysian Open Bowling Championship will be the last opportunity for national bowlers to book their spot in the upcoming 2015 Singapore SEA Games in June.
The national bowling squad has actively participated in tournaments across Europe and Asia, including the recent Thailand Open. But with limited time left on the clock, bowlers will now have to buck up and prove their credentials during the Malaysia Open, which is set to take place between the 29th of April and the 7th of May.
“Athletes who give their very best will be awarded a spot, regardless of whether they are a senior player or reserve player,” Holloway Cheah told Utusan Malaysia.
“The reserves and the elite athletes have been putting up the same level of performance. So, we will have to look at their performance in the upcoming competition and pick the more deserving ones.”
Two names that will certainly be part of his squad are Sin Li Jane and Rafiq Ismail; both of whom excelled at the Thailand Open recently.
