There’s countless amount of hilarious own goals throughout the history of football, and few have had the brilliance of the video below.
During the Jordanian derby between Al Faisaly and Al Wihdat, goalkeeper Mohammad Shatnawi ended up being the villain of the day as far as the home team were concerned. He saved an attempt on target, but fluffed his response towards the rebound, before awkwardly producing an overhead kick to sent the ball into the back of the net!
His goal allowed Al Wihdat to go 2-0 up in the game, and they eventually added a third to make it a 3-0 win. It’s already tough enough to concede three goals in a derby game, let alone the idea of scoring an astonishing own goal in the process. Insane stuff!
