National shuttler Chong Wei Feng is determined to bounce back and rediscover his form, having struggled over the last few tournaments.
The Kedah-born player, who picked up a hamstring problem during the Indian Open quarter-finals in January, returned to the national scene recently. However, Wei Feng has been relatively sluggish thus far, especially in the Singapore Open last week.
However, the 27 year-old remains optimistic of his recovery process, though he did suggest that it could take a considerable amount of time before he returns to his best.
“The problem is, I don’t know when I’ll ever return to my original performance,” he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.
“This is the first time I’ve encountered an injury that has lasted this long. It’s not easy for me to admit defeat, but I’m determined to improve my quality upcoming matches.
With Chong Wei missing from the scene, Malaysia’s badminton contingent has been struggling to find its form, struggling to perform in recent tournaments like the Malaysian Open, Indian Open as well as the All England Championship
