Faizal Saari determined to bounce back against India

National hockey prodigy Faizal Saari is determined to bounce out of his poor form when Malaysia take on India in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup tonight.

Faizal has struggled for form in the competition, which has coincided with the fact that Malaysia has lost its two fixtures against New Zealand and Australia thus far.

The 24 year-old attributes his poor form to the fact that he was absent from training for quite some time, due to bonus related issues. That being said, he is determined to start hitting the back of the net soon, beginning with their crucial match against India tonight.

“It has been so long since I played in an international game. I really do hope that people understand my current situation,” Faizal told Harian Metro.

“What’s important is that I try to produce my best performance. If I do get an opportunity to nail a goal, I will fully utilize it,” he added.
