Twitter reacts to Manchester City’s defeat against Crystal Palace

Manchester City have effectively blown their chances of clinching the English Premier League title after falling to a frustrating 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

The Citizens slipped to fourth on Saturday, with Manchester United and Arsenal winning their respective games. Hence, Manuel Pellegrini’s men were aware of the fact that they needed to clinch a win in this one to remain relevant within the title race.

But when Murray broke the deadlock in the first half, things got relatively messy for City. It got worse for them 3 minutes into the second half, as Jason Puncheon scored to doubled Palace’s lead in the game.

Pellegrini’s men kept pushing and managed to reduce the deficit through Yaya Toure with 12 minutes left on the clock. But evidently, that wasn’t enough for them to foster a comeback as Palace seized a win that leaves City fourth on the league table. Worse still, they are now nine points behind league leaders Chelsea, who also happen to have a game in hand.

As usual, Twitter exploded with some hilarious reactions!
