Terengganu have made a U-turn on their decision to sign Jaime Braganca by swooping for Canadian winger Issey Morgan Nakajima instead.
The Turtles initially made a move for the Portuguese-born Braganca, but the 31 year-old barely impressed in their friendly match against Kuantan FA recently, sparking a negative response from fans.
The Terengganu management then opted to reevaluate their decision to pursue Braganca, before deciding to then release him and swoop for signature of Issey Morgan.
The Canadian winger arrives with a decent CV, having played for the likes of Brisbane Roar and even Toronto FC at one point. In fact, he first made his name as a teenager, while plying his trade with Albirex Niigata in the S.League, between 2004 and 2006.
He went on to play for several clubs in Scandinavia, before eventually signing for the Roars. In 2014, he moved to Toronto FC to play under Ryan Nelsen, before shifting to Montreal Impact within the same year.
He has also made 36 appearances for the Canadian national team, scoring once during a FIFA World Cup qualifying match against St Vincent and the Grenadines.
