AYTB Championship: Malaysia secure two more gold medals

National bowlers Muhammad Rafiq and Natasha Roslan secured two more gold medals for Malaysia, on the final day of the 18th Asian Youth Bowling Championships.

Muhammad Rafiq claimed his fourth individual gold medal after dominating the boy’s 16-game Masters Event with 3873 pinfalls before reaching the final. He then went on to defeat Indonesia’s Billy M Islam in the stepladder finals with a 203-183 victory.

Besides that, the 18 year-old have also won gold medal for the singles, doubles and all-events.

Meanwhile, Natasha went through an edgy match to secure her gold medal. The 19 year-old initially lost the opening match of the stepladder final against Australian Emily Rigney. That being said, she bounced back to secure the decider, by sealing a 244-204 victory.

Their victories mean that Malaysia managed to clinch a total of six gold, three silver and one bronze medal from the championship.
