Sarawak FA keeping tabs on Liberian defender

Sarawak FA are rumoured to be interested in former Melbourne Hearts defender Patrick Gerhardt, with the April transfer window edging ever closer.

Dutch defender Ronald Hikspoors picked up a severe injury recently and is on the verge of being released to make way for a new signing, and while speculations have been linking Gabor Gyepes with a return to Kuching, it now appears that Robert Alberts’ shortlist includes several other names, including Patrick’s.

The Liberian defender started his career with Young Boys, before travelling around the globe to play for a plethora of sides. More recently though, he joined the A-League in 2012 by signing for Melbourne Hearts, before he was released in April 2014. He then opted to sign for Iraqi side Al Zawraa, though the spell came to a premature end in November 2014.

Since then, the 29 year-old has been without a club, though he is now set to undergo a trial with Sarawak, before a final judgement is made on the possibility of signing him up.
