National mixed doubles’ shuttlers Wong Fai Yin and Chow Mei Kuan suffered an early exit at the 2015 Yonex India Open after being knocked out by Japanese duo Kenichi Hayakawa and Misaki Matsutomo in the first round.
Fai Yin-Mei Kuan clinched the first set with a huge gap, winning 21-14, though the second set certainly drained plenty of energy out of them. The Japanese duo battled hard to win it 22-20.
In the third set, Japan showcased its superiority by dominating and powering through to win it 21-17, and ultimately secure victory and progression into the next round.
However, Malaysia still has one hope in the tournament, with Tan Aik Quan and Lai Pei Jing set to compete against Danny Bawa Chrisnanta and Yu Yan Vanessa Neo later today.
