2015 Diving World Series: Mun Yee and Jun Hoong secure podium finish

National divers Leong Mun Yee and Cheong Jun Hoong bagged the bronze medal at the second leg of the 2015 FINA World Diving series.

The Malaysian duo managed to seal a spot on the podium after securing 315.18 points, behind Glasgow Commonwealth Games champions Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion as well as China’s Chen Ruolin and Liu Huixia.

The Chinese duo, both of whom secured the gold medal in first leg of the tournament, dominated the competition once again, with 324.66 points.

The Malaysian team were initially in fourth position after their first two dives but bounced back in their followings attempts, to claim the bronze medal.

This certainly comes as a positive news, considering that the partnership between Jun Hoong and Mun Yee is still new and fresh. Both individuals were paired together earlier this year, when Mun Yee’s initial partner, Pandelela Rinong, picked up a knee injury.
