National shuttler Liew Daren breezed past Sri Lanka’s Niluka Karunaratine to secure his spot in the quarter-finals of the 2015 Yonex Polish Open.
Having suffered an early exit from the Swiss Open last week, the Malaysian displayed plenty of desire to bounce back, and he did that by cruising to an easy 21-16, 21-10 straight sets victory.
Liew Daren will next take on first seed Rasmus Fladberg, who edged over Polish qualifier Mateusz Dubowski 11-21, 23-21, 21-17.
Meanwhile, Malaysian youngster Soo Teck Zhi also continued his impressive run in the tournament by booking a quarter-final spot after he defeated Kisyov Blagovest 21-12, 21-19.
At the same time. mixed doubles shuttlers Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying are also through to the quarters after overcoming Czech Republic’s Jakub Bitman and Alzbeta Basova with a convincing 21-7, 21-19 victory.
