Bojan Hodak: We have serious issues in attack

Johor DT head coach Bojan Hodak admitted that his side’s struggled are primarily due to their inability to convert pivotal chances upfront.

The Southern Tigers haven’t exactly been on form in recent weeks, struggling against Sime Darby last weekend. In fact, they even needed a last-gasp goal to triumph over Balestier Khalsa in the AFC Cup last year.

But ahead of a key tie against Balestier Khalsa on Tuesday night, Bojan certainly needs to deal with the issue in order to deescalate their bad run of form.

“Jorge Diaz and Luciano Figueroa are out with long-term injuries and as of now, I only have Safee Sali and Amri Yahya upfront. Against Sime Darby, our attack improved after I brought Mahali to improve our strength on the flanks,” he told Harian Metro

“I won’t deny that Amri isn’t at his best yet, since he returned from a long term injury recently. He will need some time to get back to his best, and we can only beef our attack when the April transfer window opens.

But besides that, we are also struggling with lethargy, considering that our schedule has been very tight. I will need to manage our training sessions more diligently over the next few weeks,” he added.

Johor DT will be looking to continue their 100% record in the AFC Cup when they take on Kitchee SC tomorrow night, with kick off slated for 8 p.m. Malaysian time.
