Chong Wei’s BWF hearing to take place on April 11

Former world number one Datuk Lee Chong Wei’s BWF hearing on his doping scandal will take place on the 11th of April in Amsterdam, BAM have confirmed.

Chong Wei has been waiting to know his fate for almost four months, after testing positive for Dexamethasone in a random urine test that was conducted during the World Championship in Copenhagen.

BAM have now confirmed the date for the hearing and deputy president Datuk Norza Zakaria even said that the verdict will most likely be delivered on the day. But should there be any delays, it will merely take between one to three days for the verdict to be delivered.

The BWF panelist will be supervising Chong Wei’s case, although the names would only be revealed on the day of the hearing. As for Chong Wei’s defence, the lawyers from Mike Morgan Sports have been working around the clock to ensure the hearing proceeds well.

“We appeal to every Malaysian and Datuk Lee’s fans all over the world to be patient and continue giving the moral support he needs at this juncture,” Norza told Astro Awani.

“Your support thus far, has been a pillar of strength for Datuk Lee,” he added.
