Two-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray booked a Davis Cup quarter-final spot for Great Britain with a straight sets victory over USA giant John Isner, in Glasgow.
The Scot managed to wrap up the match with a 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 7-6 (7-4) win over Isner, giving USA a 3-1 lead.
The top seed though, had an edgy opening set when it was on a tie-break but managed to power through the last point and seized control in the following sets.
“It feels great. This is a team effort and I think everyone agrees the team played their part,” Murray told BBC.
This victory marks the second consecutive year in which Great Britain has defeated USA, allowing them to seal a quarter-final clash against France, in July.
