Australian tennis star appointed as MAS Ambassador

Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has been appointed as the new brand ambassador for Malaysia Airlines (MAS), the country’s official flag carrier.

The 19 year-old, whose mother is a Malaysian announced his partnership with MAS; claiming that he is honoured to be associated with an airline that represents a part of his identity.

“While I was born and brought up in Australia, I’m really proud of my family culture and am very close to my Malaysian family.

“I’ve flown with Malaysia Airlines to visit them since I was a boy and my mum and extended family have always associated the airline with home.

“I feel privileged to become a friend of the airline — it will enable me to keep that important link with my family culture,”

The teenage tennis marvel now adds the airlines to his handful of sponsors that are backing him that is inclusive of Nike, Yonex and Bonds.

Kyrgios rose to prominence after he defeated Rafael Nadal in the fourth round of this year’s Wimbledon.
