Chen Long wins men’s singles crown in Dubai

World champion Chen Long demolished Denmark’s Hans-Kristian Vittinghus 21-16, 21-10 to nab the men’s singles crown of the BWF Superseries Finals in Dubai.

This win helped the 25-year-old to take an 8-1 lead in career meetings between the two players.

South Korea’s Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong came back from a game down to beat China’s Chai Biao-Hong Wei 19-21, 21-19, 21-16 in 84 minutes to lift the men’s doubles title.

It was Yong Dae‘s second Superseries Finals title, having won the first in 2009 with Jung Jae-sung.

In the women’s doubles final, Japan’s Misaki Matsumoto /Ayaka Takahashi outplayed China’s Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei 21-17, 21-14 in 66 minutes.

It was the world No. 2 pair’s third title this season after winning the German Open in February and Japan Open in June.
