Formula 1 is planning on introducing stronger, louder, but cheaper engines within the next few years.
The sport recently switched to the V6 turbo hybrid engines this year, but there were concerns by several parties that the engines were too expensive, and too quiet.
This prompted bosses to set-up a working group, which plans to meet for their first meeting on January 6th, to deliver ideas on how to adapt the engines to meet their demands.
It’s highly unlikely that these changes will be implemented anytime soon though, as the FIA ruling states that any changes to engines from this year into next must be presented for approval by February 28th, with development forbidden thereafter other than for reliability, cost-saving or fuel efficiency reasons.
