Bernie Ecclestone has been reappointed to the board of the Formula One group after ending a battle with bribery charges recently.
Ecclestone was forced to step down during the period within which he was fighting to prove his innocence, after reports suggested that he was involved in bribery with regards to Formula One sales in Germany.
However, the 87 year-old agreed to a £60m ($100 million) settlement that led to the charges against him bring dropped.
As a result, CVC Capital Partners’ sports owner has now announced that Ecclestone will be reappointed to the board of the Formula One Group and that his position as the Chief Executive Officer will be retained.
At the same time, CVC also announced that former Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo has also been reappointed as a non-executive director of the Formula One Group.
