Stolen Red Bull trophies found in a lake

The 60 Red Bull Racing trophies that was stolen from its Milton Keynes factory earlier this month has been found in a lake, about 60 miles from the factory.

Six men used a vehicle to ram the front entrance of their factory, before robbing all the trophies two weeks ago, but a member of the public spotted a group of them inside a lake before the police got involved in the process of retrieving those trophies.

According to the police, only 20 trophies were retrieved from the lake and the whereabouts of the remaining 40 are unknown for the time being.

“It’s good news that some of our trophies have been found and thanks to the police for all their help so far,” said team boss Christian Horner. “The fact that some of the trophies were discarded in a lake and damaged shows how senseless this crime was.”

“While the trophies mean an enormous amount to the team, their intrinsic value is low – and the extent of the damage that was caused to the factory by the offenders during the break-in was significant.”

Horner though, has plans of securing replicas of the other 40 trophies and restoring them with the 20 that was discovered, back at their Milton Keynes factory.
