Ivanovic aiming for another Grand Slam

Ana Ivanovic is aiming for another major championship in 2015.

The Serbian, who has yet to win a Grand Slam title since the 2008 French Open, says she’s working hard to get back on track with another Grand Slam as her main target.

She hasn’t reacher a semi-final at the Slams since 2008, but had a strong performance this year, finishing in 5th spot.

The 27-year-old said she is now pushing the best players, including No. 1 Serena Williams.

Ivanovic beat Williams in the fourth round of the Australian Open, and suffered a couple close losses at Stanford and the WTA Finals.

The former world number one adds, “It’s very encouraging to consider that I finished fifth even though I didn’t have good results in the biggest events, the Slams. One of the most encouraging sides was that I was able to beat the very top players: Serena, Sharapova, Halep, for example. The next step is to do it more consistently at Grand Slams. I really believe I can do it, and that’s what it will take to win another Grand Slam.”
