Wei Feng: I am ready to leave BAM

World no.17 shuttler Chong Wei Feng claimed that he is ready to leave the Badminton Association of Malaysia, should they no longer require his services.

Wei Feng has been under fire in recent times with the BAM Vice President, Dato’ Norza Zakariah suggesting that Malaysia’s early exit in the Axiata Cup was due to Wei Feng’s inability to spearhead the team.

And the man himself is open to cutting ties with BAM, claiming that it will not bring an end to his badminton career as a whole.

“That is the opinion of Dato’ Norza Zakaria, what is most important is that we wait for BAM to make its official decision” the Malaysian shuttler told Sinar Harian.

“If I ever do get eliminated from BAM, it will not result in my career coming to an end. There are many other clubs in Malaysia that I can join and it’s not much of an issue there.

The Malaysian badminton scene has been under intense scrutiny in recent times, with the indefinite suspension on Lee Chong Wei exposing the myriad of talent development issues within the local football scene.

Besides an early exit at the Axiata Cup, Malaysia will also not have a representative at the Super Series Masters Final, which is set to take place next week.
